Treasurer & Director of Operations:  Carol S. Colton

Carol and her husband moved to Portland 16 years ago and love everything about Portland and Maine.  She retired 10 years ago from a 30+ year career in insurance as a personal account manager and loved the opportunity it gave her to interact with and provide service to her clients. After retiring, she was looking for a way to give back to the community and was thrilled to join the steering committee to develop an initiative to help neighbors age in place.  As a Board member, she spreads her passion for this program wherever she can. Carol also serves on the Board of Directors of Back Cover Neighborhood Assn.

Secretary:  Bruce W. Dalbeck

Bruce grew up in Maine and moved back in 2000. He is currently employed as a caregiver by a local home care company and by LL Bean seasonally. In his previous career, he was a management consultant working on a variety of strategic initiatives, ranging from improving operations to helping start-ups get launched and grow. Bruce believes community-wide support can help provide a more dignified, graceful, and safer way to age at home. He wants to help the Independent Seniors Network become a key support for all of us. He resides in Back Cove with his wife and two cats. Bruce loves being outdoors - sailing, kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing, gardening, or just exploring our beautiful State and region.

Director:  Kate Spanier, MS, LSW

She has worked for over 25 years in the not-for-profit sector, focusing on geriatrics, and served on several community boards. She is an LSW and currently works in Care Coordination for Seniors Plus. Originally from Maine, she had lived in Colorado and North Carolina before returning to Maine 5 years ago. She lives in Portland with her husband, two teenage daughters, and a very large dog.
