Independent Seniors Network is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization supporting aging in place. Our funding is provided by membership dues, as well as donations, grants, and fundraising.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Independent Seniors Network is to support and empower seniors in the greater Portland area who wish to remain living in their own homes as long as possible. Volunteers provide services, social connections, and activities for members, helping both members and volunteers to maintain active, social, safe, and independent lives. Diversity and inclusion are woven into the fabric of our core values and help Independent Seniors Network to deliver our mission throughout the community.
Professional Affiliations:
Village to Village Network. A network of over 200 villages nationwide with 150 villages in progress, Village to Village Network is a resource for villages of all types to assist them in developing, maintaining, and improving their organizations. All villages strive to enable seniors to remain in their own homes safely and remain connected to their communities.
Maine Association of Nonprofits. An organization and network of Maine Nonprofits to assist in organizational development and compliance, Board and Leadership development, and legal and risk management guidance.
